Liberty Land Surveying, LLC is a veteran-owned, licensed land surveying firm serving Snohomish, Skagit, Island, and San Juan counties, Washington. We provide boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and aerial imagery and photogrammetry services for progress monitoring, quantities, or documentation.
Theodore McJunkin, co-owner, principal and Washington State licensed land surveyor, has been in the field since 2014. He started his career in Alaska before relocating to Washington in 2018, where he continued developing his skills on large infrastructure projects throughout the Puget Sound region. He now lives and works in Snohomish County.
Danny Laylan, co-owner and director of business operations, spent five years leading Marines as an Aviation Maintenance Officer in the USMC, followed by eight years in business development serving aerospace, defense, and veteran-owned companies.
Together we bring complementary backgrounds to running the firm.
We work across the full range of what gets built, from a homeowner's accessory dwelling unit to a runway rehabilitation, a working farm to a major resource or infrastructure project. The scale changes but the standard doesn't. Everything that gets built on land starts with someone measuring it correctly, and we take that responsibility seriously regardless of what's going up on the other end.
We are not just in the business of surveying land, we are also in the business of building surveyors. The profession is facing a shrinking workforce nationwide, and we intend to do something about that in our corner of Washington. We bring people in without prior experience and develop them into capable field professionals from the ground up. Between formal education, military leadership, and hands-on experience across every phase of a project, we know how to teach this trade. Veterans and driven students who want to work outside, build real skills, and grow into a lasting career are encouraged to reach out.
Liberty Land Surveying is a family-focused and locally rooted company. We live and work in the same communities our clients do, we have a stake in how this region grows and develops.
